Busy days!!! July 6, 2009
Just wanted to post a quick update about the lives of us Everette’s! As always we have been busy, but it seems we have been EXTRA busy this past month! I am finishing up my summer semester of classes (they end July 23rd). Only 6 days of classes left, but who’s counting?!? It has been a very crazy semester with 16 weeks of work being crammed into 8 but I’m nearing the end. Then I will have 2 or 3 weeks off before my fall semester begins. During that time me and Chad are hoping to take a long weekend getaway to the beach! I will also be having my wisdom teeth removed on August 7th so even our “break” will be quite eventful! Prayers please for my wisdom teeth surgery because I am anxious as all get out about having it done!!!
During the past month Chad has changed jobs to a new company, Davco Heating & Air. However, after working for them for a month it was decided that his former employer held a much brighter future as far as career advancement was concerned. So he will be returning to that job at the beginning of next week and we are keeping our fingers crossed that he won’t have to do the amount of traveling he was having to do before!
Finally, we are in the process of trying to sell our house and boy is it a roller coaster of up and down emotions! We actually had it almost sold to a family who had moved down from Michigan. We had a contract written, had been to look for new houses, but then the family decided against buying the house. I have to say it was very disappointing though I know that God has a plan and a reason for what happened. We are showing it this week to another couple who has moved down from California so we would appreciate your prayers for guidance in the situation! Well, I think that’s all for now! Hopefully life will have slowed down A LOT the next time I blog! Leaving you with a few recent, random pictures. God bless!
Jon and Kate Plus 8 June 23, 2009
I am so saddened by the announcement from Jon and Kate to seperate after 10 years of marriage. I watched the show last night in disbelief of just how different Jon has become recently. He is definately not the same man that he was in the past although he claims that this “new him” is who he always was. I don’t know about anyone else but I certainly don’t like this “new Jon”. My heart just breaks for Kate. Not to say by any means that Kate is perfect and has done everything right, but it’s sad to see a Christian woman who has done everything that she can to save her marriage, end up in a situation like they’re in. It’s sad to see a Christian marriage that is in the public eye end like this. I guess all that we can do is pray for Jon and Kate’s marriage AND their 8 children who will be so affected by this. Such a sad announcement. I’m still holding out hope for the best though.
Summer time, summer time…. May 12, 2009
So, to celebrate the lovely, frying weather that we have here in Georgia in the summer, I cut all of my hair off! I’d say a good 5 to 6 inches came off! I threatened to pick up all of the hair off the floor and make Jonathan a toupe there was so much! I think I really like but I’m still getting used to it because it’s such a drastic change! I’m sure it will be a lot quicker and easier to handle!
More Crafting Fun! May 4, 2009
Last night I made the hairbow holder pictured below for my cousin Brandy’s baby shower as well. It turned out really cute! A lot of people use a picture frame to hang the ribbons from but we thought a chalkboard would be cute! That way it could potentially be written and drawn on with chalk!
A Baby Gift! April 28, 2009
My cousin Brandy is due to have a little girl, Audrey, this July. We are having a shower for her May 9th and I wanted to contribute a handmade gift since everyone else in my family seems to be so crafty! So I made her the blanket pictured below that I learned to make in my old small group at church. It turned out really cute and my mom handstitched the furry lion on for me (thanks Mom)! Hopefully she will enjoy it for many years to come!
End of the semester….booooo! April 8, 2009
So, you gotta love the end of a school semester….NOT! All of the professors decided to cram all of the assignments into the last four weeks of the semester so that you go absolutely insane trying to complete them all. At least that’s my philosophy. Let me give you the rundown of all the assignments that I have due in the next 3 1/2 weeks. I have a program presentation, a curriculum presentation, a Cultural Immersion project (this ones a biggie!), a theorist presentation, a final project, an assesment analysis, a lesson plan, a mock parent-teacher conference, an assessment instruments assignment, a behavior management assignment, and a final exam! Whew! And yes, I did say all of this is due within a 3 1/2 week period! Lord help me! 🙂
The good news is I got all of the classes that I needed for the summer and fall semester. So I am right on track for graduating. I will definately be celebrating the day that I no longer have to attend school year round! Already counting down the days…..
